Allan Octavian Hume was a civil servant in British governed India, and a political reformer.

He is the son of Joseph Hume. Allan Octavian Hume lived between June 6, 1829 and July 31, 1912.

He, along with Sir William Wedderburn, waa a founder of the Indian National Congress, a political party which was to later lead the Indian independence movement.
