All the Indian institutes of management commonly conduct a common entrance test for admission to various management colleges in India. The exam is known as Common Admission Test commonly known as CAT.
Different IIMs provides different post graduate management programs in management. The candidate must look at different programs and their eligibility requirements for admission to that management program.
Apart from management programs IIM Ahmadabad, IM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta and IIM Indore provides follow program in management known as FPM. This program is equivalent to PH.D. There is a separate advertisement from post graduate management program at separate time duration. The different IIMS offers various Management programs are IIM Ahmadabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Khozhikode, IIM Lakhnow, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak and RGIIM Shilong.
Apart from these institutes there are several other institutes which accept Cat scores for admission to their colleges. Each institute has its own admission procedure separate from other institutes. Before applying for admission to an institute the candidate must be sure to which management programs he/she want to take admission and what are the eligibility and admission procedure for the institute. The candidate will get the result, list of non-IIM member participating in CAT from the official website of CAT.
CAT is an online test and held for 20 days. A student can appear for the Exam only once during 20 days.
Those candidates are eligible for CAT, who is bachelor with a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation. For SC/ST category candidates, relaxation of 5% is there 45%. The percentage of marks obtained during their graduation must be calculated on the basis of rules and regulation adopted by the recognized university/boards. Prospective candidate should have a valid email id throughout their selection process. The information bulletin for CAT can be obtained from selected branches of Axis branches available in the official website of CAT. On purchasing the cat information voucher the candidate have to log in to official website of CAT to register for the entrance exam. Details of the complete registration process will be given in the website. The result and score card of the candidate will be available in the official website of CAT. Candidate must take a print out of their score card.
