Mount Everest, also called Chomolungma, Qomolangma or Zhumulangma (in lang-bo|ཇོ་མོ་གླང་མ, in Chinese: (珠穆朗玛峰 Zhūmùlǎngmǎ Fēng) or Sagarmatha (lang-ne|सगरमाथा).

It is the highest mountain on Earth, as measured by the height of its summit above sea level, which is 8,848 metres or 29,029 feet.

The mountain, which is part of the Himalaya range in High Asia, is located on the border between Sagarmatha Zone, Nepal and Tibet, China.

ClimbersEdit

Sir Edmund Hillary of NZ and Tenzing Norgay, of Nepal were the first climbers.

A 76-year-old Nepali man Min Bahadur Sherchan is the oldest person to climb to the top of Mount Everest on Sunday, the 24th May 2008.(as per a report by Katmandu Government official).
