Mumbai (Marathi: मुंबई Muṁbaī, IPA: /'mumbəi/ (help·info)), formerly known as Bombay, is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra and the most populous city in the country.It is also regarded as the financial capital of India
People
With an estimated population of about 13 million in the city (as of 2007)[1] and 7 million in the suburbs[2], it forms the world's fifth most populous metropolitan area.
